The United Nations is and always has been an extraordinary place, bringing together amazing minds to solve some of the world’s greatest issues and make the world just a little bit better each day. Not only has the United Nations allowed for some of the world’s most intelligent adults to come together, but have been an open and welcoming space for the world’s youth to share their passion. The world’s youth has pushed and pushed to have their vehement, persistent, and courageous voices be heard and their ideas acted on. In light of these amazing achievements, the 26th Youth Assembly, “Youth for the SDGs 2030” is dedicated to highlighting the work of youth. One of the main sessions is “Youth Involvement in the United Nations” which will be held on August 9th.

One of the young panelists of this session is Pathways To Peace Youth Representative, Katelyn Grano. Ms. Grano is a member of the Youth Representatives Steering Committee to the Department to the Global Communications and attends Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York. Here, Katelyn is currently studying towards a double concentration in International Business and Finance, with a minor in Economics. Her goals in working with the United Nations have primarily been targeted towards SDGs 4, 11, 13, and 16. She is thrilled to be a panelist for this session and share with youth around the world the ways that they can get involved, share their work, ideas, voices, and make a difference in the world today. If you would like to join the event, please visit faf.org and register for the conference using the tab found at the top of the page.
