It's all about YOUth!

Just a few short days ago I had the extreme honor of being moderator for the International Youth Day hosted by The Department of Global Communications to the United Nations with the DGC Civil Society Youth Representatives Steering Committee. The powerful messages and journeys that were shared will transform what youth think they can achieve, letting them know anything is possible and that their mission is vital and heard by the world. Recognizing that it is the YOU in youth that will and already are making a difference in this world, fighting for a cleaner, safer, and more just home for world citizens.

The mission of this event was to not only celebrate International Youth Day, but to highlight the work of those working tirelessly towards their end goals. It was to encourage all to keep working, keep pushing, and to never give up even when the times get tough and tougher. We hoped that this conference would give youth the platform to share their projects build relationships and partnerships with the other great young minds working for a better world.

This event reminds me of all of the amazing work I have been a part of as a developer of the Global Education Tool Kit, in collaboration with my NGO Pathways To Peace. This project enables youth in third world and developing countries to have access to the gift of education. To be a part of something that teaches youth to love to learn, in all aspects of life is truly so fulfilling. Events like these are what inspired myself and the rest of my team to keep working and pushing to share our project with the world, hoping that it helps even one person, because after all it only takes one to make a change. I am excited to see what is to come from my fellow youth around the world! Happy International Youth Day!! Continue this not only today but each day forward.
